About Nikon at Jones Beach Theater
Originally opened in 1952 as the Jones Beach Marine Theatre, this outdoor amphitheater is located in New York along the water's edge. After years of renovations and name changes, the venue was deemed Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre, and was upgraded from 8,200 seats to 15,000 seats.
Performances at this venue were rather magical because artists would often take advantage of their surroundings, and use floating props during their set. The setup of this unique venue even forces the performers to take a boat in order to arrive at the stage.
